Organic Shapes
As a graphic designer who is always on the lookout for new branding and trends, I have noticed a huge upsurge in organic shapes in recent years, which is clearly different from previous trends. I wonder what effect organic shapes have on people, why they are trending right now and why they alternate with geometric shapes. I’m interested in what messages organic shapes, as well as design elements inspired by nature, convey and how brands can use them for themselves.
In this context, the term „biomimicry“ also plays a crucial role – learning from and being inspired by nature to solve human problems, in my case, design problems. So my research will also include what connections can be found between these issues. For this reason, I would like to look into this topic in order to understand why these motifs are so widespread and what influence they have on peoples perceptions.
