In short: I’m still figuring out where my research will lead me. Digital Sustainability is an extensive topic with numerous facets to explore. On one hand, there’s the aspect of raising awareness. Only few people are familiar with Digital Sustainability and its implications, posing a significant barrier to a sustainable digital future. I’m considering focusing on this area and engaging in educational efforts.
Yet, there are other aspects that are equally intriguing, albeit possibly more complex. These include Digital Divide, Misinformation & Fake News, Accessibility, and Digital Graveyard. Accessibility may be the simplest topic here, and could be linked to sustainable UX. However, Misinformation & Fake News also deeply concern me on a personal level, as myself, my family, or friends could be affected at any time. Unfortunately, I haven’t researched this area much yet, but it’s something I plan to delve into.
Thus far, I haven’t found a focus point, so I’ll continue my broad exploration of the Digital Sustainability landscape as usual.
