Imagine a platform designed to empower women in their careers through the magic of branding and design. Picture a vibrant community where women come together, share their unique stories, and connect with potential employers. In this blog post, I’ll dive into the heart of Femiworks, discussing our central research question, our mission, and how design plays a pivotal role in helping women reach their career goals.
Why does it matter?
Career development can be a challenging journey for women, but there is potential in improving it.
In the third quarter of 2020, the statistics reveal an interesting disparity within the European Union – more than 9.5 million individuals occupied managerial roles, with 6.2 million being men and 3.3 million women. Despite women constituting nearly half of the EU’s workforce at 46%, they remain underrepresented in managerial positions, accounting for only 34%.

Central Research Question and Sub-Questions.
The central research question is: „How can effective branding and design empower women in the workforce?“ To explore this question, the sub-questions addressing specific aspects of branding and design were formulated.
- How can personal branding influence a woman’s ability to advance in her career?
- How can a well-designed resume or CV impact a woman’s job search and career prospects?
- How can networking and community-building be integrated into a woman’s personal branding and career development efforts?
Relevance in Design Fields.
Design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating an impression and telling a story.
Effective design can make women stand out in a competitive job market. Whether it’s designing a visually stunning resume, crafting a compelling portfolio, or creating a strong online presence, design can be the key to success.
